How do I play?

Place one star in every row, every column and every colour area. Stars never touch, not even at the corners. Tap a square once for a dot (your note that no star goes there), tap the dot to place a star, and drag across squares to add many dots. The full illustrated guide is in the app under How to Play.

Do I ever need to guess?

No. Every puzzle has exactly one answer and can be solved one sure step at a time. If you are stuck, tap Hint: it shows the next step and explains why.

Why did I lose a rating star?

Each level starts with 5 rating stars. A wrong star or a hint costs one, but you always keep at least one and never lose the level. In the first 3 tutorial levels mistakes are free.

What is a streak freeze?

Solve tonight's puzzle on nights in a row to grow your streak. If you miss one night, a streak freeze keeps your streak going automatically. You get one every week.

Can I get a reminder for tonight's puzzle?

Yes, if you like. Turn on Nightly reminder in Settings and choose a time. It is off unless you turn it on, and you won't be reminded on a night you have already solved the puzzle.

How do I share my result?

After solving tonight's puzzle, tap Share my result. It shares your night number, rating, time and streak, never the answer.

How is my progress saved?

Automatically, on your phone. Continue takes you back to the exact board you left. Progress is not stored online, so it does not move to a new phone by itself; it comes along when you set up your new phone from a backup of the old one (an iCloud or computer backup on iPhone, or your Google backup on Android). Progress does not move between an iPhone and an Android phone.

How do I start again?

Choose New Game on the title screen, or Settings, Reset progress. Both erase your solved levels, stars and streak after asking you to confirm. Your settings are kept.

Can I turn off the music or sounds?

Yes. Use the music note and speaker buttons at the top of the title screen or of any level, or the switches in Settings. Haptics can be turned off in Settings too.

Is it colour blind friendly?

Turn on Colour patterns in Settings to add a different texture to each colour area.
